It's already June and we are ready to go to Japan!
Today, July 7th is the Festival of Vega (Tanabata matsuri in Japanese).
People make "sasa kazari". This is a bamboo branch with five different colored strips of paper tied to the leaves.
People write their wishes on these strips of paper.
I always like to read those wishes. I missed that last year and this year.
I wish that you guys can see beautiful stars in the sky tonight.

また今回ビブラソンのライブは無いのですが、久しぶりにVib&Marimba鈴木千恵ちゃんのリーダーライブに参加します。
このフライヤーに使われている花の名前、Martyが教えてくれました。
Bird of Paradiseと言うそうです。うんうん。確かに！花が南国の鳥みたい。
ちょうどこのフライヤーが届いた頃、今住んでいるアパートのエントランスに同じ花が植えられているのを見つけました。
日本に居る時には切り花でしか見た事がなかったけれど、株も大きくりっぱ。
華やかに力強く咲いている姿にイメージが変わりました。
今回の夏のツアー、この花のように力強い演奏をお届けできるといいな。

This flower is called " Bird of Paradise". Marty taught me about that. It's name really describes the way the flower appears.
I found the same plants at the entrance of our apartment complex.
It's the first time for me to see them growing naturally other than seeing them in a bouquet. They looked so gorgeous and vibrant.
This Japan tour , I hope our music will be as vibrant as this flower :)

近所のジムのエントランスではサルスベリが満開。
日本と同じ花がフロリダでも見られるとやっぱり嬉しい♪
このサルスベリ、街路樹とか、駐車場などにも良く植えられていて、街のあちこちで見かけます。
東京ももう少ししたら見頃かしら〜？

This is a photo taken in front of our local Recreation Center after taking my Yoga class this morning.
Behind me, we can see "Lagerstroemia indica" in full bloom.
We have these same flowers in Japan.
I am happy to see them here in Florida.
I think Lagerstroemia indica will bloom soon in Tokyo.
