一年が経つのは本当に早い〜。
先月末は初めて、サンクスギビングディナーにご招待いただきました。
アメリカ本場のサンクスギビング。友人宅でのホームパーティーにお招きいただけるなんて光栄でした！

彼らはベジタリアンなのですが、(こちらアメリカでは日本よりもベジタリアン率が高い）メインディッシュのターキーが無いと誰もパーティーに来たがらないから。。。とサンクスギビングだけはターキーを解禁w
立派なターキー&沢山のお料理をごちそうになり、アメリカの祭日を友人達と満喫させていただきました。
It's almost the end of the year....how fast time goes by.
End of last month, two friends of ours invited us to join them for Thanksgiving dinner.
I was happy to check out a real Thanksgiving dinner with some of our American friends :)
They are vegitalians but they prepared a large turkey plate dinner because if they say there is no turkey...nobody would want to join them for dinner. LOL
That's true! Turkey is the main dish for thanksgiving.
I really enjoyed spending this holiday with our friends.

私は今が旬の日本のカボチャをぜひ皆さんに味わっていただきたくて（カボチャは日本のものと、こちらで手に入るスクワッシュとは全く別物）カボチャの煮物を作って差し入れ。
今年は初めてアメリカンスタイルのアップルパイ作りにもチャレンジしてみました。
日本が誇るブランド’Fujiアップル’を使って焼いたら大好評〜♪（来年もディナーにご招待いただけると確約w）
カボチャの煮物もアップルパイも皆さん喜んで食べてくださって嬉しかった〜。
I wanted to bring something to the dinner so I decided to make a Japanese pumpkin dish and an American apple pie with Fuji apples.
It was the first time for me to make US style apple pie.
I was happy to hear that everybody really enjoyed it.

また今月前半は衆議院の在外選挙へ。フロリダでは12/3〜7日まで、マイアミ領事館での投票でした。
マイアミまで片道４時間...だったので、投票を兼ねマイアミに住む大好きな叔母にも久しぶりに会って来ました。彼女はマイアミに約４０年住んでいます。
いつもキラキラしていて、素晴らしい女性。私達と話すのをいつも楽しみにしてくれています。特に家族のルーツや政治、芸術、音楽の話が大好きで、いつも話が尽きません。
彼女は間もなく９０歳を迎えます。信じられない〜！
今回も沢山刺激をもらって帰って来ました。
This month, I went to the Miami consulate to vote for the House of Representatives in Japan.It is a four hour drive from Tampa to Miami. We also decided to visit our favorite aunt. She's been living in Miami for almost 40 years.
It is always fun to see her.
She is such a brilliant and wonderful woman and loves conversation.
Especially, she enjoys talking about the familly tree, politics, art and music.
I always feel that there is never enough time to hear everything she has to say. She will be 90 years old soon....can you belive that ?
We love our aunt so much.

叔母が連れていってくれたイタリア料理のお店とMartyと行ったキューバ料理のお店は、Martyの両親がよく通っていたお店だそうで、感慨深かった〜。
After voting day, we went to Miami south beach to walk and had lunch at a Cuban restaurant on Calle Ocho in Little Havana.
The day before, we went to an Italian and Cuban restaurant, Marty's parents used to go there.
I really enjoyed both restaurants.
