日本はゴールデンウィークですね〜。こちらでは今月から蝉が鳴き始め、イースターも終わり、すっかり真夏の暑さです！
今日は先月末から昨日までのコンサートの報告など☆
３/30はOrlandoのTimcua(White House)にてM&M Latin Jazz Ensembleのコンサート。
ドラマー＆パーカッショニストのDimaz Sanchesさんをゲストに迎え、お馴染みのコンガ奏者Calros Garciaさんとプエルトリカンパワー溢れる強力なリズム隊で盛り上がりました。写真向かって左からRichard Drexler on piano, Dimaz Sanches on Drums, Carlos Garcia on Congas,Marty Morell on Vibraphone, Michiko on Vocal & Bongos, Ben Kramer on bass, Jeff Rupert on tenor sax.のメンバーでお届けしました。
４/12はGrand Bohemian Hotel Bosendorfer LoungeにてM&M Latin Jazz Quartet。Richard Drexler on piano, Ben Kramer on bass, Marty Morell on Vibraphone, Michiko on Vocal & Percussionでお届けしました。
メンバーの集合写真は撮り忘れましたが、私のセッティングとMartyの写真など。
最近の小編成ではカホンを取り入れたこのセッティングを良く使っています♪
軽く音出し中のMarty。こちらのマレットはMartyの手作りで、
Takoyaki Mallet Companyと言う名前でこっそりeBayにてネット販売しています。
そして昨日はAl Downing Jazz Association主催、Studio@620, St.PetersburgでM&M Latin Jazz Ensembleのコンサート。ゲストに "La Lucha" John C. O'Leary III on Piano , Alejandro Arenas, on Bass, Mark Feinman on Drums, special guest Sam L Koppelman on Marimbaを迎えお届けしました。
こちらでの演奏は二度目だったのですが、アートギャラリで絵に囲まれながらの演奏は雰囲気も良くお気に入り。毎回参加して下さるJazzファンのお客様も多く、アットホームな雰囲気で盛り上がりました。
昨日はMartyアレンジのジャズスタンダードやラテンに、私が書いた曲も初披露。
タイトルは「Go Ahead」（1st setでDetour Aheadという曲を演奏したのでそれに対抗してみましたw) 客席でサルサを踊ってくださった方もいらして、とても嬉しかった！
そしてもう一つ昨日は嬉しかった事が。
Martyママが初めて私たちのコンサートに来てくれたのです♪
私たちの音楽をとても喜んでくれて、MCでは親子トークなども繰り広げてくれました。
コンサートに来てくださった皆さん本当にありがとうございました。
そして、素晴らしいメンバーに感謝！またこちらのメンバーでも演奏したいです。
Yesterday, It was our 2nd time playing at Studio@620.
There was a nice atmosphere with wonderful people and beautiful paintings.
We love playing there and I feel like 'it's my home'
We played Jazz and Latin standards composed by Marty and my new tune.
I named that new tune ' Go Ahead'. I was inspired by the tune 'Detour Ahead'.
A few people danced to my tune and I was really happy to see that.
My mother-in-law 'Aida' came to our concert. It was the first time for her to attend one of our performances. I'm glad that she enjoyed herself.
Also, people enjoyed conversation with Marty and Mom at the concert. There were some funny stories.
It was a fun concert for me playing with great musicians.Thank you so much guys! Many thanks to everyone who was at our concert and to the Al Downing Jazz Association, Studio@620.
